2021 Bellagio Fountain Holiday Songs Added

The Bellagio Fountain Holiday song schedule has been updated to include holiday songs. The current rotation has a holiday song as every 3rd song. It makes the times easier to predict if you don’t have the schedule handy. The holiday songs play at 4:00pm, 5:30pm, 7:00pm, 7:45pm, 8:30pm, 9:15pm, 10:00pm, 10:45pm and 11:30pm during the week. They add 1:00pm and 2:30pm on holidays and weekends.

The schedule will change each week until January 3, 2022 when it reverts to the standard playlist. You can see the current schedule on my Bellagio Fountain Show Songs and Schedule 2021 page.

Cosmopolitan to be operated by MGM Resorts

The Cosmopolitan has changed hands a few times since it opened in 2010. It was one of my favorite hotels for awhile, with its focus on food and beverage and nightlife. I revisited the property this past June and was able to enjoy one of my favorite rooms again. I really do enjoy relaxing on those balconies. I was disappointed in almost everything else about the Cosmo this past trip, though. I like MGM, so I am hoping things turn around a bit.

MGM Resorts will begin operating the Cosmopolitan operations once the agreement is finalized in early 2022. That will give MGM operational control of all of the Strip-front gaming properties on the West side of the Strip from the Bellagio, South to Mandalay Bay. That is a long stretch. They will be leasing the property from a partnership that includes Blackstone. Note that MGM recently sold the Bellagio to Blackstone and is leasing the property back. Over the past few years, MGM has also sold Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Aria and Vdara to Blackstone and is leasing them back under similar agreements.

Vegas is back?

(UPDATE: Mask were required when indoors again from July 30th, 2021 – February 10, 2022. The mask mandate is no longer in effect)

Vegas is back. Kind of.

The cab driver on my way from the airport said that Vegas was back. And on the surface, that’s believable. There are a lot of people on the Strip. Shows are reopening and most restaurants and clubs are open. The airport is crowded.  That’s about as far as it goes. Even though the airport was busy, they have only 1 taxi line open and there wasn’t much of a wait when I landed.

Many restaurants have reopened, but not all of them. The ones that are open tend to require reservations. The lineup I saw waiting to get in to Catch at Aria right when they opened was comical. I considered going to the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars, but all reservations were sold out for the duration of my last trip. Late night dining options are very limited (and you can expect long lines at the ones that are). It seems like more restaurants are reopening each week, though (like Fleur at Mandalay Bay reopening July 26th).

As a general rule, masks are not required if you are vaccinated.

If everyone is being honest, it looks like over 90% of the people in Las Vegas are vaccinated. I don’t believe that, though. I did get a few looks for wearing mine. Most staff members wore masks, but not all of them. I am guessing that some vaccinated staff may not be required to wear masks. I wasn’t happy that the Cosmo room service person came right into my room without a masks, though.
