Foursquare check in specials are constantly evolving. The American Express promotions like the one at the Sony Store are becoming more common. They require that you have synced your AmEx card with your Foursquare account. Then you need to load the offer onto your AmEx card when Foursquare prompts you. It tends to take 1-2 weeks before you see the credit on your AmEx account.
