The Roller Coaster at New York – New York is a surprisingly good roller coaster. It doesn’t seem that bad from a distance since the oversized hotels nearby skew your sense of perspective. The 180 foot lift at the beginning of the feels very high (an endless) when you are on the coaster, though. It hits 67mph very quickly and sends you through surprisingly tight twists and rolls.

You can usually find discounts for it. myVEGAS offers a 2-for-1 for 2500LPs. The American Casino Guide and Las Vegas Advisor MRB both have 2-for-1 coupons for it. If you are staying at New York – New York, though, you can get a 2-for-1 without a coupon.  Just show your room key when you buy your ticket. The hours are limited to 11a to noon and 5p to 6p, but if that fits your schedule, it is a great deal. It also times out well, so you can get a cheaper ride before lunch or dinner. You won’t want to ride it soon after a meal.
