myVEGAS Comps and Freeplay

It looks like myVEGAS now explicitly states that you cannot combine any myVEGAS Freeplay Rewards with any type of comp room offer (from Mlife or any of the myVEGAS games). The $25 myKONAMI Freeplay (available only in the myKONAMI app and only for a specific set of machines) is still combinable with comp offers and doesn’t even require a stay at an MGM property.

    So there’s practically no way to get FreePlay with comped Myvegas room stays?
    Would you see the buffets are the best bet after that?

    1. It applies not only to myVEGAS Comp Rooms, but any comp room. For example, I have a upcoming trip where my room is comped via an Mlife offer. I can’t use my VEGAS FreePlay with that either.
      Best bet really depends upon your needs. The MatchPlays (for table games) are my next choice, followed by food and entertainment Rewards (including non-Mlife Rewards like House of Blues, Wolfgang Puck).

  3. I was checking some of the room rewards and it seems for some of the discounts, there is no longer the “must use by dec 28th”. I wonder if that means they will soon be posting rewards for rooms for the new year

    1. Yes. If the ‘use by’ date has moved past December, then they have been updated. The fine print should show travel dates through the end of June, 2019.
      It like like many of the Room Rewards are in the process of being refreshed right now.

  4. Couldn’t find anything but can i use a free myvegas room at the aria 2 nights and use a free buffet where it requires a one night stay in the same trip?

    1. Yes, you can use the free buffet and 2 night comp on the same trip.
      Requiring a one night stay means that you need to be staying at an MGM Resort for at least one night. You need to go to the Mlife desk to get the Free Buffet loaded to your Mlife card while you are checked in to an MGM Resort. Whether the room is comped or paid does not matter for the buffet.
      The only place where comped vs paid room is a factor is with Freeplay. myVEGAS Freeplay cannot be combined with a comped room.
