The Mirage Penthouse Suite is absolutely my favorite room. I could live here without a problem. I’ve stayed in the Penthouse a few times and even held my wedding reception there. It held 25 people for cake and cocktails quite comfortably. It has a wetbar with 2 stools, a living room space with couches and chairs for 6 and a dining table with 4 chairs (you could easily fit a few more seats at the table). When the Penthouse and Tower Suites were renovated in late 2010, they reworked the living room entertainment area to include an iPod docking station, USB and HDMI ports which allow you to connect your devices to the 52” flat screen TV. The wetbar has a refrigerator with ice maker. The bedroom has a 42” TV hidden in the footboard. When you turn it on, it rises from its hiding place. There is also an iPod docking station on the nightstand. The bathroom includes a large dressing area as well as a jacuzzi, separate shower, private toilet and bidet. These rooms are located on the 29th and 30th floors (sometimes listed as floors D and E) and have their own set of elevators. You can find a floorplan and virtual tour of the Penthouse Suite on the Mirage website.
Staying in a Penthouse Suite also gets you the Mirage’s Suite Life perks. This includes airport limo service, VIP check in, complimentary spa access, expedited room service, and even a pillow menu.
Rates run about $300 during the week and $550 on the weekend. That is roughly 3 times the basic room rate. If you want to save a little money and don’t want the Suite Life perks, the Tower Suite has the same floor plan as the Penthouse and tends to be about $100 less per night. The Tower Suites are on Floors 26-28 (A-C). They do run specials on suites from time to time, lowering the rate to $250 per night. The Mirage has a nightly $25 resort fee, so you should factor that in when budgeting for your room. It includes Internet access, fitness room use, boarding pass printing and a few other more mundane things.
As I mentioned in my Mirage Tower Deluxe post, the Mirage has a lot of things that I like. If you have a special occasion coming up, think about getting a Penthouse Suite at the Mirage. You won’t regret it.
