Hyatt and MGM have started a partnership between their Hyatt Gold Passport and MGM Mlife programs. Mlife members will be able to earn Tier Credits at Hyatt Hotels and Resorts. Hyatt Gold Passport members will be able to earn and use Passport Points at MGM Resorts.
Mlife members will earn 8 Tier Points for every dollar spent on eligible Hyatt Hotel and Resort stays when they present their Mlife card and Gold Passport card upon check in at the Hyatt. If you don’t have your Mlife card on hand, you can also request to get the Tier Credits from eligible stay applied to your account by calling the Hyatt Worldwide Reservation Center at 1-800-51-HYATT. Only stays beginning on or after June 20, 2013 are eligible for this.
Hyatt Gold Passport members earn 5 Passport Points for every eligible dollar spent at MGM properties. If you can earn Mlife Tier Points for it, you can earn Hyatt Gold Passport Points for it. 5 Passport Points per dollar is the same rate that Gold Passport members receive at Hyatt Hotels and Resorts. Bonus Points for higher Gold Passport Tiers will apply. In addition to the usual upgrades and free nights at Hyatt properties, Passport Points can be redeemed for free rooms at MGM Resorts.
- A standard room at Excalibur costs 8000 Passport Points.
- A room at Luxor is 12,000 Passport Points.
- Standard Rooms at Monte Carlo and New York – New York are 15,000 Passport Points.
- Rooms at MGM Grand, the Mirage, The Signature at MGM Grand and Vdara are 18,000 Passport Points
- Rooms at Aria, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay and THEhotel at Mandalay Bay are 22,000 Passport Points.

In August, tier matching will be added to the partnership. Mlife Gold, Platinum and Noir members can opt-in to be upgraded to Hyatt’s Gold Passport Platinum status which lets you earn Passport Points 15% faster as well as providing some perks like free in-room Internet access, late checkout, a dedicated elite check in area and a guaranteed room as long as you book 72 hours ahead of your stay.
