I enjoy playing video poker. If you are going to play it, though, you should learn the correct strategy. There is a lot of information (and misinformation) out there. I recall reading a book from a well known series which said for Jacks or Better video poker if you had a hand like Js, 8s, 5s, 4s, 2h you should keep the high card (Jack) since you were more likely to pair your high card when drawing 4 new cards than get any other winning hand. While not technically wrong (you are more likely to get a high pair that way) it is not the correct play for that hand.
I suggest learning from a trusted video expert. Over the next few months, you can learn the strategies for free from Bob Dancer. He is offering free classes at South Point Casino on Wednesdays starting September 10th. Beginners classes run noon-1:30p and the intermediate classes run 2pm-3pm when available. He covers a different game each week. 9/6 Jacks or Better is on September 10th. NSU Deuces Wild is October 22. For the full schedule and additional details visit http://www.bobdancer.com/seminars.cfm
