The Golden Nugget, in downtown Las Vegas, is offering tours of The Shark Tank (its 200,000 gallon shark filled aquarium in the middle of the pool complex). You can go behind the scenes and above the Tank with their resident marine biologist and learn a bit about the sharks and the aquarium. Your guide will cover a lot about the sharks, the feeding process, the divers’ safety gear and the other fish in the aquarium. You will also have a chance to ask questions. Every tour participant gets a souvenir shark tooth, too.
Tickets are $30. Tours are at 3:30pm Thursday – Saturday.
To make your Shark Tank Tour reservation or for more info, visit the Golden Nugget’s Shark Tank Tour page.

The Royal Rewards Players Club is used at the Plaza Hotel and Casino and Las Vegas Club downtown. The basic structure is similar to other players clubs like Mlife and Total Rewards. Points are used to determine free play and comps. Tier credits are used to advance your tier status.
Royal Rewards Points and Tier Credits are earned at the same rate.
For video poker, $3 of coin-in = 1 Point and 1 Tier Credit
When playing slots, bingo and “all other [electronic] games”, $1 of coin-in = 1 Point and 1 Tier Credit
Comps for table games are not disclosed, but they are based upon your average bet, the odds of the game and the length of your play.
Tier Credits for table games vary based on the game as well, but you can expect to earn 125 Tier Credits for 1 hour of blackjack with an average bet of $25.

While Las Vegas has a lot of burger places already, I was happy to see Bobby’s Burger Palace open in front of the Mandarin Oriental. The burgers are good and affordable; and since you order before finding a table, it tends to be quicker than Burger Bar and Gordon Ramsay BurGR. Continue reading Bobby’s Burger Palace
myVEGAS has updated their Comp Room Rewards calendars. Most go through January 2015 and the rest should follow soon. While the calendars have been updated, the Rewards have not. Current Comp Room Rewards are still only good for travel dates through September 30, 2014. Hopefully that will change soon, but in the meantime, make sure to read the fine print and the available dates for the Reward. Continue reading myVEGAS Comp Calendar update
