American Fish Happy Hour

American Fish is closing in July and will be transformed into Bardot Brasserie (also by Michael Mina), but you still have a chance to take advantage of the great American Fish “Revive at 5” happy hour specials.

The only notable drink special is the $4 Stella Artois. The rest are marginal ($7 for a Tom Collins with mid-level rail gin, $7 house wines).

House of Blues myVEGAS Rewards now available for other cities

myVEGAS, in partnership with the House of Blues, now has new Rewards which can be used at House of Blues locations in Los Angeles, Dallas and Orlando in addition to Las Vegas.

Current Rewards include Foundation Room Access for 2, Souvenir Glasses, Gospel Brunch tickets, free Kid’s Meals, free cornbread, free drinks and free flatbread. The D: It’s amazing what a new coat of paint can do

I spent a night downtown at  The D on a recent trip. It was a nice change from the Strip. While I don’t agree with the notion that downtown Las Vegas is “Old Vegas” anymore (too much has changed), I do enjoy the relaxed vibe downtown. Everything is less expensive downtown, too.  The D  was formerly Fitzgeralds. The Irish theming is gone and has been replaced with a fresh red and black color palette. That simple paint job is enough to give the casino a more modern feel, while giving a nod to the Las Vegas of yesteryear. Continue reading The D: It’s amazing what a new coat of paint can do
